PRESS RELEASE Permanent Solution for State of the art Carnegie Veterinary Clinic

The new State of the art Vetinary Clinic at Dandenong Road Carnegie. Protect Crete provides successful permanent solution for State of the Art Pet Emergency & Specialist Centre -800m2 of New, green, old and very wet existing concrete suffering from hydrostatic pressure.

“New, green, old and wet concrete this project had it all” This was the comment from John Hammond; Managing Director of Cam Hammond Floors, when he was describing the original floor that he had to transform into the successful job it is today. The floor was specified with the Polyflor guaranteed system of Protect Crete Moisture barrier, Kiesel engineered levelling compounds and adhesive and Polyflor vinyl. John said “Terry Lucas from Protect Crete gave us a specification for grinding the old concrete and applying the Densi-Proof, applying to the channels which were dug out for services, immediately after they are re-poured and a new area of concrete that was applied at the time of pour. The concrete, now having all moisture locked up permanently, was sanded and cleaned to receive Kiesel FS101 levelling compound and Kiesel Star 100 adhesive. Aaron Martin Polyflor National Products Manager was on hand to assist the installer (Roy Green of Cam Hammond Floors) with any extra technical information needed. Roy applied the Kiesel FS101 at a depth of 2mm over the entire floor without a trowel mark in it. Master Builder Mr John Winter was delighted with the result and really can’t believe that the advice and performance of the Protect Crete Products could overcome everything he faced and associated with such a wide variety of problems and issues relating to our very wet old existing concrete with hydrostatic pressure, reinstatement of new concrete of extensive trenching that had to occur and of course all of the new concrete that had to be poured to replace such faulty and weak existing concrete. “The Protect Crete products absolutely helped us to meet the demands and pressures of fast track building lock up and finish dates, where the concrete just doesn’t have time to dry sufficiently. It is a one off application and even though it can be applied to concrete at any stage to overcome moisture related problems, we now use Protect Crete as an integral part of all our building process at the time of pour which not only enhances our concrete performance, it allows floor covering installation to proceed at any time without problems”.
